Votaw is a small unincorporated community located in Hardin County, Texas, United States. It is situated along State Highway 105, about 30 miles northwest of Beaumont, Texas. The town has a population of less than 500 according to the 2010 United States Census. The area has a humid subtropical climate characterized by hot summers and mild winters. The economy of Votaw is largely based on agriculture, timber, and oil and gas production. The town has a post office, a convenience store, and a volunteer fire department. Votaw also has a small elementary school which is part of the Hardin-Jefferson Independent School District. The town is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is a popular destination for hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation.
